For new students, tuition must be submitted at least three days prior to starting a lesson program or class.  The student is considered enrolled for a program once the tuition and registration form have been received.

For renewals, tuition must be submitted by the last lesson of each program to ensure your slot for the next program.  The student's fee for non-sufficient or uncollected checks is $35.

Attendance and Make-Up Policy

At the beginning of any program, specific days and times for lessons are agreed upon between parents/guardians, students and the studio. Boulder Drum Studio will initiate the Virtual connection on the designated day and time. If the connection shows that the student is unavailable at the time of the lesson, Boulder Drum Studio will continue to make regular attempts every few minutes for a period of no more than 15 minutes. If a late connection is finally made, any missed time will be made up at the end of the lesson at the teacher’s discretion. If after 15 minutes no connection is made, Boulder Drum Studio will cease any more attempts and consider the lesson forfeited.

Regular attendance is expected. As soon as possible the student should notify the management office in writing (e-mail preferred) of any absence.

* Studio closure dates can be found on our calendar page.
* Cancellations within 24 hours of the lesson will be forfeited.
* Make-up lessons are only available within seven days (before or after) of the canceled lesson and must be requested by the student in writing.
* Once a make-up lesson is requested by the student, available slots will be communicated by the studio no later than seven days before the week of the canceled lesson.
* Make-up lessons cannot be carried over to the next regular lesson.
* Make-up lessons are only added to the end of the program if the teacher cannot provide at least two make-up lesson slots within the seven day period.
* If a teacher is absent, either a qualified substitute teacher will be provided or a make-up lesson will be scheduled during the program at the teacher’s discretion.
* Make-up lessons cannot be rescheduled once they are booked.
* If the student misses a scheduled make-up lesson, that lesson will be forfeited.
* Permanent changes in lesson program times cannot be scheduled more than one week out from the current date.
* Postponing the lesson program is only allowed under extenuating circumstances and must be requested in writing. Boulder Drum Studio reserves the right to discontinue the lesson program if the postponement exceeds two months in length. Refunds are not given in this case.

Registration/Refund Policy

Students are considered registered for an assigned program until the management office receives and approves a written request to withdraw. Notification of withdrawal from lessons or classes must be received in writing by the management office and is effective from the date the written withdrawal is received, not the date of the last lesson attended. Verbal notification in any form is not considered formal notice of withdrawal. A students program will be canceled if two or more lessons are missed without written notification and the remainder of the tuition fees are forfeited.

If a student discontinues the program before the third lesson of a program, a refund will be given for 50% of the remaining tuition. Refunds will not be issued after the third lesson except under certain circumstances and with written request. Registration fees are non-refundable. In the event of prolonged absence due to an emergency, written requests for refunds will be considered on a case by case basis by the management office.

Boulder Drum Studio reserves the right to discontinue a student’s program at any time if the teacher is made to feel uncomfortable in any way by the student or the parents.

Boulder Drum Studio also reserves the right to suspend a student’s program if a required tuition payment has not been made within three weeks of its due date. The full tuition is still owed in this case regardless of whether or not the lesson program is reinstated.

Liability

I understand that in the event of any default, Boulder Drum Studio may declare the entire unpaid balance to be immediately due and payable, and if Boulder Drum Studio then assigns this agreement to a collection agency for recovery, the student will also be responsible for up to 30% of the unpaid principle balance as the reasonable cost of collection.

I understand that any lawsuit over the terms of this agreement shall be brought within the courts of Colorado and governed by the laws of that state. Accordingly, the parties hereby subject themselves to the jurisdiction of those courts. Should such a dispute result in any term being declared contrary to those laws, the remaining terms shall still be binding. The losing party will pay all reasonable and necessary costs (including attorney fees) of any lawsuit to enforce this agreement.
