For new students, tuition must be submitted at least three days prior to starting a one-time or monthly lesson program. The student is considered enrolled for a program once the tuition and registration form have been received.
For renewals, tuition must be submitted by the last lesson of each program to ensure your slot for the next program. The student's fee for non-sufficient or uncollected checks is $35.
Attendance and Make-Up Policy
At the beginning of any program, specific days and times for lessons are agreed upon between parents/guardians, students and Boulder Drum Studio. As soon as possible the student should notify Boulder Drum Studio (e-mail preferred) of any absence or delay.
* Cancellations within 24 hours of the lesson will be forfeited.
* If the student is unavailable once the teacher arrives, the teacher will be required to wait no more than 20 minutes at the residence before leaving. Once the teacher leaves, the remainder of the lesson will be forfeited.
* Make-up lessons are only available within seven days (before or after) of the canceled lesson and must be requested by the student.
* Make-up lessons cannot be combined (doubled up) with another regular lesson.
* Make-up lessons are only added to the end of the program if the teacher cannot provide a lesson slot within the seven day period.
* If a teacher is absent, a make-up lesson will be scheduled during the program at the teachers discretion.
* If the student misses a scheduled make-up lesson, that lesson will be forfeited.
* Postponing the lesson program is only allowed under extenuating circumstances and must be requested in writing. Boulder Drum Studio reserves the right to discontinue the lesson program if the postponement exceeds two months in length. Refunds are not given in this case.
* It is suggested that students cancel their lesson in advance if they are sick. If the teacher visits the home and finds that the student is sick with the following symptoms: Runny nose, Sore throat, Coughing, Sneezing, or Fever, the teacher will leave the student's residence without the lesson being taught. In this case, BDS reserves the right to charge the student for that day.
Registration/Refund Policy
Students are considered enrolled for a monthly lesson program unless Boulder Drum Studio receives a written request to withdraw. Notification of withdrawal is effective from the date the written withdrawal is received, not the date of the last lesson attended. A students program will be canceled if at least two lessons are missed without written notification. In this case, the remainder of the tuition fees are forfeited.
If a student discontinues the lesson program before the third lesson, a refund will be given for 50% of the remaining tuition. Refunds will not be issued after the third lesson except under extreme circumstances and must be requested in writing. In the event of a prolonged absence due to an emergency, written requests for refunds will be considered by Boulder Drum Studio.
